The organizing committee members of the 32nd International Conference on Pediatric Nursing have finally revealed the theme for this year`s “Pediatric Meet 2020” conference and it is going to be held during July 13-14, 2020 at Sydney, Australia. Dr. Carlos Castillo-Salgado currently serves as the Special Advisor for PAHO/WHO’s Forum for Public Health in the Americas. He obtained his Master and Doctoral degrees in Public Health from the School of Hygiene and Public Health, Johns Hopkins University; and his M.D. degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He also obtained a J.D. degree with Honorable Mention from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. Dr. Castillo-Salgado has served in several technical positions at PAHO/WHO, including Area Manager for Health Analysis and Information Systems; Chief of the Special Program for Health Analysis and Information Systems; Program Coordinator for the Health Situation Analysis Program; and Regional Advisor in Epidemiology for the Communicable Diseases Program. He served as Professor and Research Coordinator in Primary Health and Community Medicine at the National University of Mexico, and as Visiting Associate Professor in several schools of public health in Latin America and Spain. Currently, he is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Epidemiology Department, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, and a Courtesy Professor at the College of Public Health, University of South Florida. Dr. Castillo-Salgado is the author of several scientific publication and articles on epidemiology and public health. His areas of expertise include measurement of health inequalities, health metrics, geographic information systems, epidemiological risk assessment and public health impact assessment. He developed and/or coordinated several graduate training programs in Epidemiology and Public Health with different academic institutions in countries of the Americas and in Spain.

Dr. Gilmore G. Solidum is a Professor at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the city of Manila) and was former Dean of the College of Nursing and University Registrar of the same institution. Dr. Solidum is a registered nurse and a licensed professional teacher. Aside from his basic nursing education, he is a holder of a master’s degree in psychology and nursing and has a doctorate in management. Dr. Solidum is an awarded educator and researcher. His involvement goes beyond the academe as he is also active in professional development activities and community development initiatives.

Dr. Judilynn N. Solidum is Professor IV at the University of the Philippines, Manila. She is a registered Pharmacist with a BS degree on the said field. She is also a Pharmacologist and Environmental Scientist with her MS and PhD degrees respectively. She is also a holder of Professional Teaching Certification. The author has her share of editorial positions as well as publications on both national and international levels.She has also been recognized on local, national and international levels with awards related to her work as a journal peer reviewer, a translational researcher, a storybook author especially on subjects concerning dengue prevention.She is one of the Philippine scholars, ready and willing to serve for the betterment of Filipino communities.

Tinghong Yang, MD, Prof and Director of Social Medicine at Zhejiang University, China. Dr. Yang is a member of the expert group of National Association on Tobacco Control, and an external faculty affiliate of Injury Control Research, West Virginal University, U.S. He also was a advisor for the World Health Organization in delivering policy and program on tobacco control to health professions students, and served as an expert in updating management of CRDs in the WHO Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of NCDs 2013-2020. His primary academic focus is health behavior, and research interests are in tobacco control, mental stress, and obesity .The Series of projects of “tobacco control advocacy capacity” covered all provinces in China, including more than 80 cities. In recent years he published more than 50 international papers. Several papers were cited by WHO report on the global tobacco epidemic, and other official documents. Core information of “Global Health Professions Student Survey (GHPSS) in Tobacco Control in China “was released by the United Nations.

Dr. Feldman is a Professor of Anthropology at The College at Brockport, State University of New York near Rochester, New York, and former President of the Society for Medical Anthropology-an international organization with over 1,300 members. He is the former Chair of his current Department, and has served as Professor, Academic Director, and Institute Director at Nova Southeastern University near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, President of D.A. Feldman & Associates, Inc.-an HIV/AIDS social research organization, Research Associate Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine and faculty member of the MPH. Program and founding Executive Director of the AIDS Center of Queens County-the AIDS service organization for the borough of Queens in New York City. As a leader in AIDS and anthropology, and more broadly medical anthropology, he was the first anthropologist to develop as Principal Investigator a research study on HIV/AIDS in the United States in 1982-among gay men in New York City. He also was the first anthropologist to do a research study on AIDS in Africa in 1985-among hospitalized persons with AIDS in Rwanda. He started the AIDS and Anthropology Research Group in 1986, which had rapidly grown under his leadership. In 1987, he led the formation of an AIDS service organization in the face of strong, and sometimes violent, community opposition. In 1988, he influenced AIDS policy in Bangladesh after meeting with government officials and the media. That same year, he founded the American Anthropological Association Task Force on AIDS. He has also conducted AIDS social/behavioral research in Zambia, Senegal, Uganda, Hungary, and Florida. His published books include The Social Dimensions of AIDS: Method and Theory (1986), Culture and AIDS (1990), Global AIDS Policy (1994), The AIDS Crisis A Documentary History (1998), AIDS, Culture, and Africa (2008), Ethnicity and Health Care Delivery: Sexually Transmitted Diseases (2009), and AIDS, Culture, and Gay Men (2010), as well as 79 other papers, posters, and articles. He has served as an expert witness on HIV/AIDS for eight law firms. Dr. Feldman has served as elected Treasurer and member of the Membership Committee of the National Association for the Practice of Anthropology, member of committees for the Institute of Medicine, elected member of the Nominations Committee of the American Anthropological Association, and elected board member of the Society for Medical Anthropology. He served as the Chair of the Friends of the Society for Applied Anthropology Committee. He is the recipient of the Solon T. Kimball Award for Public and Applied Anthropology (1996), and the Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Medical Anthropology (2008). He served as the Chair of the SMA Career Achievement Award Committee (2014).
